What we do

The league runs two programs for children in grades 1 through 8: an intramural program open to everyone, and a tryout-based travel program that competes in the Cape Ann League and beyond.

The program strives to teach fundamentals and develop a passion for basketball.

Whether you are a coach or a cheering parent, you will have many opportunities to help our kids show good sportsmanship (following our example, of course), understand the benefits of teamwork (a good shot usually follows a great pass), win with grace, and lose with dignity. Your ongoing encouragement will last a lifetime.

Masco Youth Basketball provides an opportunity for enthusiastic participation at all levels of ability.

All coaches, players, and parents are expected to read and observe the Standards of Conduct. Adherence to these guidelines is a requirement for participation in Masco Youth Basketball.

We offer intramural and travel programs. All players are required to register for intramurals, however, some who are selected to play on a travel team may have the option to opt out of intramurals. See the travel section for more information. The intramural season begins before Thanksgiving and usually ends in early March, depending on weather disruptions during the season and the timing of February vacation. Games and practices are at Masco and the tri-town elementary schools. The travel season runs from early November to mid-March.

How it’s funded

Registration fees cover gym time, referees, equipment, and league dues. The league is volunteer-run, so fees go to running the season.
